Explore the Hidden Gems of Asmara and Massawa in 3 Days

• Arrive at Asmara International Airport, meet your English-Speaking Guide and transfer to your hotel.
• In the afternoon, we will walk through the city center and visit some exciting places that Asmara, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers.
• One of the city’s most significant monuments is the Catholic Cathedral of Santa Maria, in pure Lombard Romanesque style with an interior completely frescoed. We will also visit Cinema Impero Opened in 1937, it is stunning example of 1930s movie theatre design.
• Overnight at the hotel in Star hotel Asmara

Morning

• Early morning start with breakfast at hotel and begin your 120km journey to Massawa (about 4 hours) – a colorful port town mixed with Italian, Egyptian and Ottoman architecture built along Africa’s Red Sea coastline.
• Massawa city tour
• Lunch on arrival at the “Azeb Restaurant”. This is a real local experience.

Afternoon

• Cruise to Green Island, explore the coastline of this Island.
• Begin making your way back to Asmara
• Overnight at the hotel in Star hotel Asmara

Morning

• After breakfast, begin a walking tour of the center of town. We will see the spectacular art deco of Asmara built by the Italians at the turn of the last century, such as the Post office built 1916, Albergo Italia built in 1899, the presidential palace built in 1907, and the Hotel Hamasien built in 1916.
• Drive out to check out one of the largest tank graveyards. Soviet tanks, aircrafts, vintage cars. this place has it all! Most are leftovers from the war with Ethiopia.

Afternoon

• Lunch at the Spagetti House
• Continue exploring the Fiat Tagliero Building, the Opera house of Asmara, drop by the outside of the Italian embassy, the old railway station of Asmara – the railway was constructed between 1887 and 1932 during the Italian Eritrea colony.
• At the appropriate time, transfer to the airport for departure
• End of tour!!!
