Dahlak Tours: Terms and Conditions
Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully before making reservations or purchasing a tour. This Agreement outlines the rights and responsibilities of both the customer and Dahlak Tours. By booking with us, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Eligibility & Customer Responsibility
Age: You must be 18 years of age or older. Travelers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
The Fine Print: It is your responsibility to read all details associated with your chosen package, including itineraries, inclusions, exclusions, and specific cancellation policies. By purchasing, you waive the right to dispute these details later.
Contact Info: You are responsible for keeping your contact information current so we can provide timely tour updates.
2. Reservation Process & E-Tickets
Receipt of Reservation: After booking, you will receive an automated email receipt. This is not a guarantee of seat availability.
Confirmation: Within two business days, you will receive a formal confirmation email once payment is processed and availability is verified.
E-Tickets: Your final E-Ticket will be sent once all arrangements are finalized. You must print this ticket and present it with a valid photo ID to your guide on the day of departure.
3. Privacy & Data Security
Dahlak Tours is the sole owner of information collected on this site. We collect names, contact details, and payment information only to process your booking. We do not sell or share your data with outside parties, except as required to secure your permits and travel arrangements.
4. Travel Insurance
Dahlak Tours strongly recommends that all clients purchase comprehensive travel insurance. This should cover medical expenses, trip cancellations, and luggage loss. Dahlak Tours assumes no liability for personal injury, death, property damage, or delays due to events beyond our control.
5. Visa & Eritrean Travel Permits
Visa Assistance: You are responsible for verifying entry requirements. Dahlak Tours can assist with paperwork for visa applications. For those without a local Eritrean Embassy, we can facilitate a Visa on Arrival at Asmara International Airport ($70 USD fee payable at the airport).
Travel Permits: Per government regulations, all foreign nationals require a permit to travel more than 25 km outside of Asmara. Dahlak Tours provides free support and assistance in obtaining these permits for our customers.
Local Laws: You must abide by all immigration and customs laws of Eritrea.
6. Tour Amendments & Cancellations
We reserve the right to alter, postpone, or cancel tours due to weather, safety concerns, or insufficient participants. If Dahlak Tours cancels a tour before departure due to low participation, a full refund of the payment will be issued.
7. Pricing & Refund Policy
All prices are in USD and are subject to change based on availability and holiday surcharges.
Cancellation Charges:
30+ days notice: 100% of the Tour Cost (minus deposit) is refunded.
15 – 30 days notice: 100% of the Tour Cost (minus deposit) is refunded.
8 – 15 days notice: 80% of the Tour Cost is refunded.
1 – 7 days notice: No refund provided.
Note: Deposits are non-refundable as they cover immediate administrative and booking costs.
8. Medical Conditions & Accessibility
Health: Travelers with medical conditions or who are pregnant must consult a doctor before booking. You are responsible for disclosing any health-related needs during checkout.
Accessibility: We welcome all travelers. However, not all destinations (such as remote islands or rugged highland treks) currently offer full disability accommodations. Please contact us before booking to ensure we can meet your specific needs.
9. Limitation of Liability
While we strive for total accuracy, Dahlak Tours does not warrant that all website information is free of errors. Use of the site and its content is at your own risk. We are not responsible for the content or security of any external links provided for your convenience.
